West Ham United: Simon Jordan reacts to tragic David Moyes news live on talkSPORT
Simon Jordan has reacted to the news that David Moyes may not be offered a new deal at West Ham, insisting that it would be the wrong decision.
Jordan claimed that it would be the club’s loss if Moyes were to leave, in light of all he has achieved in East London and that their form this season is nothing more than a blip.
Martin O’Neill, meanwhile, slammed fans whom he accuses of waiting for a bad patch so that they can complain and claimed he would be surprised if Moyes wasn’t offered a new deal at the London Stadium.

The co-host speaking live on talkSPORT [6 November, 12:26], stated: “The team’s going well this year. Okay, they got beat in the last couple of games, but they’re 11th in the league, they’re doing well in Europe.
“We have these sort of micro-moments where all of a sudden we get to hear from a dissenting group of the West Ham fans about what they don’t like about David Moyes.
“I think, tragically for him, if West Ham’s board are prepared to let his contract drift till the end of the season and not secure him, they either think they can’t go anywhere else, or there’s no value in him.
“That means that there’s a possibility that David will be departing West Ham, and I think that that’s to West Ham’s loss. If he wants to go as a Director of Football at 60 years of age, I would be surprised because I think he’s full of beans and full of energy.”

Moyes has credit in the bank
It must be considered that Moyes has a certain amount of credit in the bank for his successes over the last few years at the London Stadium, including winning European silverware which must not be overlooked, and that has likely contributed to the board’s current stance.
To put it plainly, the results this season haven’t been good enough, with the Hammers currently having won just once in their last six games and slid to 11th in the Premier League table. While it is still early stages, fans will not want to see the club slip much further.
Aside from the results this season, though, there is an acceptance that the style of play and blind faith in underperforming players are contributing factors to the frustration around the boss, and the club may want to move ahead in a new direction.
O’Neill and Jordan’s stances come from the credit that Moyes has earned at West Ham, but as the club will, they must move with the times and recognise that a new direction may be the way forward in East London.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has listed Tottenham as a more plausible transfer move than West Ham.
