West Ham United set to confirm signing of Alphonse Areola in next 72 hours
West Ham United are set to confirm the signing of Alphonse Areola in the next 72 hours, according to Claret and Hugh.
The online source has reported on their website that the Irons should bring in the Frenchman before Tuesday, converting last season’s loan into a permanent move.
It is shared that the announcement could even come as early as Monday, and if not then, most likely Tuesday as the Hammers look to follow the arrival of Nayef Aguerd quickly.
It is said that with Newcastle moving for Nick Pope, there is no fear of anyone else coming in at the last moment to try and take the Irons’ main target away from them.
Sky Sports have already reported that a five-year deal is on the table for Areola, with all parties now seemingly happy with what is being offered ahead of confirmation.
David Moyes will now get his man and his second signing of the window, with the goalkeeping department staying together beyond one season at the London Stadium.
Brilliant.
It was critical that these deals were finalised early in the window.
This now gives Rob Newman, alongside Moyes, plenty of time to go out and work on other critical areas of the squad moving into the new Premier League season.
The heart of midfield and a new centre-forward are the only two areas that should be concentrated on.
Mark Noble and Alex Kral have both left, leaving Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek as our only two options in midfield, with question marks even starting to pop up regarding Conor Coventry.
The final third is even worst, with Michail Antonio leading the line by himself since January 2021 now, something that still hasn’t been addressed with a major, big-money arrival.
GSB and Daniel Kretinsky have made a great start to the window with Aguerd likely followed by Areola very soon, but this is when the real business starts, and they cannot let anyone down.
