West Ham United set sight on Dutch winger Justin Kluivert

West Ham are showing interest in Dutch winger Justin Kluivert who could be allowed to leave AS Roma this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The famous pink newspaper reported on their print edition on 7 July (page 11) that the Hammers like the player who is valued at around £13 million.

As of now, no club has come up with that offer, and Roma may have to reduce the asking price.

Move on

The 23-year-old spent the last season on loan at French club Nice where he scored six goals and picked up six assists in 31 appearances.

His performances seem to have caught the attention of David Moyes, but he could be one of many players the Hammers have liked this summer.

Of course, West Ham can easily spend money on him, but the priority lies elsewhere at the moment.

The Hammers are looking to land a striker this summer, with Chelsea’s Armando Broja being strongly linked.

They have also registered interest in signing Jesse Lingard who is now a free agent, and doubts remain over how serious the Hammers are in getting Kluivert.

Since joining Roma from Ajax, the Dutch winger has struggled badly. He has only managed nine goals in 69 appearances for the club, and Jose Mourinho probably doesn’t rate him highly enough.

The Hammers are highly unlikely to take a gamble on him when there are better alternatives available in the market.
