West Ham United set for potential seven-figure payout from FIFA after World Cup

West Ham United could receive upwards of £1million from FIFA with five of their players set to feature at the World Cup, according to Football London.

Declan Rice, Alphonse Areola, Thilo Kehrer, Lucas Paqueta and Nayef Aguerd will be the five Hammers on show in Qatar and as a result, the club are set to receive a portion of FIFA’s Club Benefits Programme as a result.

Any club with players at the World Cup receives a percentage of the fund and if each player qualifies for the knockout rounds, even more money will arrive.

As a minimum, £807,500 will make its way to the London Stadium just for the group stages and with Rice, Areola, Kehrer and Paqueta all likely to make the knockouts with their respective countries, the total could rise to over £1million.

The Irons are also set to benefit from Nikola Vlasic with the Croatian on loan at Torino entitling West Ham to a portion of the Italian club’s benefits from FIFA.

You won’t find any club unwilling to accept some essentially free money in the tight financial times of 2022 and West Ham will very much welcome this seven-figure payout right now.

They need any cash they can find to help David Moyes make some much-needed January improvements with the club languishing 16th in the Premier League table.

It could be a hugely profitable few weeks for the club if each country ends up fulfilling their potential with Brazil, France and England among the favourites to lift the famous trophy.

And the money will only increase the further into the tournament each player and team goes which could easily fund a good portion of a new signing.

In an ideal world, Moyes would have his players refreshed and ready for the restart of club football after Christmas but the financial benefits of them all going very far is too much to ignore and, more importantly, out of his hands.
