West Ham United set for enormous weeks after what was spotted recently
Julen Lopetegui faces a “massive” few weeks ahead at West Ham after the 4-1 loss to Tottenham on 19 October, according to Jason Cundy.
Speaking on TalkSPORT with Jamie O’Hara (19 October, 5:58pm), Cundy struggled to see any difference between Lopetegui’s style of play and that of his predecessor David Moyes against Spurs.
Mohammed Kudus’ strike put the Irons ahead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but after the hosts equalised, West Ham wilted in the second period, conceding three times in eight minutes.
Cundy said: “The next three or four weeks for West Ham, are enormous.
“They’re massive because they’ve gone from David Moyes – the fans were critical of the style of play, they clearly wanted something new – they’ve not got anything new.
“In fact, for my money, it looks worse.”
Julen Lopetegui sack decision at West Ham United
Over the next four weeks, the Irons face some massive fixtures which, if results don’t improve, could put the final nail in Lopetegui’s coffin at the London Stadium.
The Spaniard looked to have turned a corner with a 4-1 win over Ipswich Town before the international break, but losing by the same scoreline in a London derby takes Lopetegui back to square one.

With fixtures against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Everton coming up before another set of international matches in November, Hammers fans will be hoping for maximum points.
Demanding nine points against sides sat near the Irons in the table isn’t too big an ask, but given how badly Lopetegui’s side are currently playing, three wins on the spin looks unlikely.
Performances mirroring the one against Tottenham won’t be put up with for much longer by Hammers fans and board members alike, making the next three games crucial for Lopetegui’s future in the job.
In other West Ham news, Kudus was praised for the “serious” message he sent after a disappointing time on international duty.
