West Ham United sent scouts to watch Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund after £40m news
West Ham United reportedly sent scouts to watch the progress of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, with the striker set to leave this summer, according to 90Min.
Hojlund has been one of the breakout stars of the 2022/23 campaign in Europe, becoming a key player for the Bergamo club by bagging an impressive seven goals in just 14 starts, also catching the eye for Denmark scoring five goals in just two Euro 2026 qualifiers already.
Tutto Atalanta reported on 24 March that Atalanta will be seeking a bid in the region of £35m-£40m to get any deal over the line.

And 90Min [5 April] have revealed that the Hammers sent scouts to watch over the talented young striker in recent months along with Everton, Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Bayern Munich and Marseille.
Napoli and Juventus have also reportedly joined the race in what is expected to be some hot competition around Europe for Hojlund’s signature this summer.
Worth considering
Hojlund is the next big thing coming out of Scandinavia and there’s no surprise to see suitors queueing up to sign him, given his tremendous form for both club and country.
It’s not a surprise to see West Ham United amongst the clubs interested given the potential need for a frontman this summer, with Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca both facing uncertain futures at the London Stadium.

However, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli and Juventus all in the frame for his signature, it seems massively unlikely that the Hammers could be in for him, especially given the fact they are yet to confirm their Premier League status for next season.
If the Hammers are to make themselves an attractive proposition for the top European youngsters again, then remaining a Premier League outfit must be high on the agenda. Only then can they start dreaming of signing talents such as Hojlund.
