West Ham United scout Rob Newman in Brazil on official transfer work

West Ham scout Rob Newman was reportedly in Brazil on official work as the club will be looking to make additions in the January transfer window.

According to ExWHUemployee, Luizao’s seemingly imminent move to the London Stadium is courtesy of Newman’s scouting work.

It is understood that the Hammers are closing in on securing the services of the Brazilian centre-back with an agreement now reached.

Ex said on the West Ham Way podcast at 4:25 – “Rob Newman’s been to Brazil looking at players. I’ve talked a lot about Luizao. He was a Rob Newman product with him going to Brazil.”

Midfielders needed

West Ham may have sorted their centre-back issue but their work for the January window is far from finished and David Moyes knows that.

Tomas Soucek has been on the decline for a while and it’s time that the Hammers look to sign an upgrade and perhaps even ship him off.

We do not know if there is a market or not for him, but his stock is only falling and the time to cash in on his services may be right away.

Hopefully, they had a contingency plan in mind and if Moyes wants Lucas Paqeuta to play deeper, we will not be surprised if they look to bring in a number 10.

The Hammers are in dire need of some creativity from midfield and they do often look clueless in the final third with the strikes being isolated.

These are interesting few weeks for the club and we’re hoping that they do not make the mistakes of the past and bring in few good players.
