Robbie Savage sends message to West Ham United board over potential David Moyes sack
Robbie Savage believes the West Ham United board should hold their nerve and avoid sacking manager David Moyes this season.
Speaking in the Daily Mirror print edition (25 February, pg.63), Savage reckons West Ham United are not too good to go down to the Championship.
Savage confessed that if the club built an identikit of a manager to save them from relegation woes then it would be someone like Moyes himself.

“West Ham are not too good to go down and if anyone thinks otherwise they have fallen into that trap before,” said Savage as quoted by the Daily Mirror print edition (25 February, pg.63).
“Manager David Moyes is said to be under pressure, but who would they turn to if they sacked him? If they built an identikit replacement of the man needed to keep them up, it would be someone like David Moyes.
“If the club owners hold their nerve, I believe they will reach safety because Moyes has been here before and knows what to do in a tight corner.”

Oh, dear.
Savage clearly hasn’t watched many West Ham United games this season if he thinks Moyes is the man to get the Hammers out of this mess.
A loss against Nottingham Forest in front of the home crowd at the London Stadium today would surely call time on Moyes’ tenure in East London.
Fans have simply had enough of how this season is panning out and before ultimate humiliation in the form of a Premier League relegation comes about, change is needed.
The squad and talent are there to have a proper go of things in the league and UEFA Europa Conference League and a new manager with fresh tactics and ideas could provide this.
If the board did choose to stick with Moyes it would be a risky bet, especially when you consider the clubs up and down form during this campaign.
Fans will have to wait and see how results pan out today but right now, things aren’t looking great for the Scot.
