West Ham United sack decision on David Moyes could see Gianluca Scamacca leave for good

Gianluca Scamacca has been linked with a transfer this summer and may well be open to leaving West Ham due to David Moyes’ future.

The Italian struggled in his first Premier League campaign and Moyes often played Michail Antonio ahead of him.

This is despite the fact that the Hammers shelled out a decent transfer fee for the Italy international whose acquisition seemed like a coup at that time.

However, the Hammers board appear to have made their decision on Moyes’ future and will not be sacking him this summer.

That’s because work has already begun on incomings despite the sale of Rice not being completed and it seems like the Scotsman will be part of the rebuild.

Last season, on numerous occasions, it seemed like he was going to get sacked but he somehow managed to navigate his way out of tough spells.

Winning a European trophy at the end was the perfect way to end the season and that perhaps gave the board some reassurance that he’s the right one for the job.

However, this news is likely to not sit well with Scamacca as he wasn’t used to his best under Moyes in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old striker’s agents have met with Roma and there is positivity about him moving to the Italian capital this summer. [Corriere Dello Sport – 17 June, Page 13]

With Jose Mourinho at the helm and desperate to find a replacement for the injured Tammy Abraham, it appears to be a match made in heaven and this could be curtains for Scamacca at West Ham.
