West Ham United: Ryan Fredericks posts farewell message to ‘amazing’ club
Four senior players have played their final games for West Ham United after they were announced to be leaving at the end of their contracts.
Mark Noble was already known to be retiring from professional football but he was joined by Ukrainian international Andriy Yarmolenko and fourth-choice goalkeeper David Martin.
The fourth name was full-back Ryan Fredericks who offered a handy amount of versatility as he often played on both the right and left-hand sides.
But his appearances had become few and far between which has seen his release and he took to Twitter to post his heartfelt goodbyes to the club and supporters.
“Thank you to everyone associated with Westham I’ve enjoyed my time from day one and have made some great memories,” he said.
“The club’s full of amazing people from players to every staff member. Loved playing in front of the passionate fans and Thank you for the messages of support.”
Relief
David Moyes won’t be worrying about if he’s made the right decision over Fredericks considering how little he was used in the 2021-22 season across all competitions.

If anything, he was only kept for another year just in case of an injury crisis and he was a nice player to have on the bench owing to his impressive speed across the turf.
Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson have had the right-back area on lockdown all campaign long and the latter’s ability to play on the opposite side means he can cover for Aaron Cresswell too.
There is some Premier League interest still in Fredericks and if those keeping an eye on him really want to waste a chunk of their wage budget on a sub=par player then they can fill their boots.
We certainly won’t be missing him and Moyes can now reinvest his wages into a player who might actually be able to improve our side.
In other West Ham news, Fredericks isn’t the only man to have waved goodbye to the London Stadium via Twitter in the past few days.
