West Ham United: Rory Jennings makes ‘sensational’ James Ward-Prowse England prediction
West Ham star James Ward-Prowse will not make the England Euro 2024 squad, according to talkSPORT’s Rory Jennings.
The prediction comes amid the current international break, with the Hammers midfielder having missed out on the latest Three Lions squad.
Gareth Southgate’s side have been drawn to face Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia at the tournament this summer.
“It’s a very good way to judge the brilliance of this squad,” Jennings said on talkSPORT. “If you did the B Team, the players that aren’t going to go to the tournament, it is probably still capable of reaching a quarter-final. Eberechi Eze will not go. James Ward-Prowse will not go.
“There are some sensational footballers that are nowhere near the England team. That’s a great way to demonstrate quite how good we are.”
Does West Ham ace James Ward-Prowse still have a chance this summer?
England manager Southgate has plenty of big decisions to make regarding his Euro 2024 squad, but first he must guide his side through some friendly clashes.
Such friendlies are against Brazil, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland, with several players set to get opportunities to impress the man in the dugout.
He has opted to once again overlook Ward-Prowse, but his London Stadium teammate Jarrod Bowen has been included.
It is certainly an impressive feat to make the cut, with the winger among superb company on the international stage.
The likes of Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden potentially stand in his way of a place in the final squad, while in midfield Ward-Prowse finds himself behind stars such as Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.

The former Southampton captain has shone since making the switch to East London last summer, having replaced former Hammers skipper Rice in midfield, with Edson Alvarez also impressing alongside Ward-Prowse.
In other West Ham news, Howard Webb and Michael Owen were in agreement over a “complicated” controversy in the recent clash with Aston Villa.
