West Ham United rocked by Mohammed Kudus news as announcement made
Mohammed Kudus has been hit with an additional two-match ban by the FA following his actions for West Ham United against Tottenham Hotspur.
The FA have published confirmation [6 November] that not only has Kudus been issued the extra sanction, an Independent Regulatory Commission has billed the forward with a £60,000 fine, and an extra £30,000 fine for the club.
The Ghanaian was sent off during the second half of the Hammers’ 4-1 defeat on 19 October for violent conduct, and was already in the midst of a standard three-match suspension which will now stretch to five.
Mohammed Kudus hit with extra ban as West Ham suffer
Kudus has already served two of his suspended matches and was due to face his final absence against Everton this Saturday [9 November].
Following the latest FA update, Julen Lopetegui will be without one of his key men for the remainder of the month, missing the Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United [25 November] and Arsenal [30 November].
The Irons’ season, following a summer of deep excitement and an overhaul in the footballing operations of the entire club, has wound up going from bad to worse so far.
Tim Steidten will be desperately unhappy with what he has seen from Lopetegui and his players, and David Sullivan and the board even more so.
Kudus now effectively faces a month on the sidelines, all for a ridiculous moment of madness with the game against Spurs already well beyond his side.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers could look for a “perfect” Michail Antonio replacement.
