West Ham United: Robbie Fowler shares David Moyes exit verdict amid London Stadium pressure
Robbie Fowler has said David Moyes is “under pressure” at West Ham despite the club sitting 7th in the Premier League table.
The Scotsman guided the Hammers to Europa Conference League glory last season after they beat Fiorentina in the final in Prague.
Moyes’ men won 3-1 away at his former club Everton this weekend after goals by Kurt Zouma, Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez.
When debating England’s next managerial options, Fowler wrote in his column in The Sunday Mirror (page 67, 3 March): “Take a look at the managerial picture in the Premier League and it is clear how limited the FA’s options are.
“Sean Dyche, Eddie Howe, Chris Wilder and Gary O’Neil are the only Englishmen managing at the top level of English football. David Moyes is British, of course, but I’m not sure a Scotsman would fit the bill!”
He added: “Moyes is under pressure at West Ham, despite winning the club’s first trophy last year since 1980.”
West Ham boss David Moyes feeling the heat according to Robbie Fowler
Moyes is a safe pair of hands for West Ham and they can’t complain with where they are in the table right now, with European football a distinct possibility once again for next term.
The Scotsman is a vastly experienced coach and has given the Hammers a European trophy during his time there which is something that will go down in history.
Getting rid of him would be a risk and it didn’t work last time he left back in 2018. Manuel Pellegrini was his replacement at the London Stadium and wasn’t able to make the impact he desired.
You can forgive those of a West Ham persuasion who feel they could have a bigger name at the helm. However, this is a case of be careful what you wish for and Moyes has done a steady job in this campaign.

The London club have won their last two games in a row now and the pressure has started to ease off their manager. They are back in Europa League action next up on Tuesday with a home clash against SC Freiburg of the Bundesliga.
