West Ham United return getting nearer for Nayef Aguerd – ExWHUEmployee

West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd is nearing his return to action with time on the grass expected soon, according to ExWHUEmployee.

The Moroccan international has been working hard in the gym over the past few weeks trying to build strength in his muscles again but he could soon be back on the pitches of Rush Green.

The 26-year-old is hoping to be back to full fitness in time to represent his country at the Qatar World Cup in November but could play for the Hammers before then.

“He is back in training and working on his fitness at the moment which puts him slightly ahead of schedule now,” ExWHUEmployee said to The West Ham Way. “It is thought he will soon move from the gym to the pitches and start to work on his match fitness.

“There is a chance now we could see him before the world cup break and for Aguerd at worst he expects to be able to play for his country Morocco in the tournament in Qatar.”

Desperate

Things are looking bleak at the London Stadium right now so the return of Aguerd would be massively welcomed by David Moyes and the West Ham faithful.

He was the first and supposed to be the only central defensive arrival of the summer after the Irons spent nearly £30million on him from Stade Rennes early in the transfer window.

There have not been many good performers so far this season which is largely why the Hammers are slumped down in 18th in the Premier League so if Aguerd can return sooner rather than later, Moyes would be delighted.

Kurt Zouma needs a better partner in crime at the back than Thilo Kehrer, the other summer arrival at centre-half, Craig Dawson or Angelo Ogbonna who are all struggling to meet the required standards at the moment.

There is no doubt that something must change at the back for West Ham because this dreadful form can’t carry on for much longer if the top seven is the aim once again.
