West Ham United ‘remain keen’ on Harry Maguire deal, ‘very big’ offer needed – Sky Sports

West Ham United ‘remain keen’ on a deal for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, according to Sky Sports.

The publication reported on its website on Friday (28 July) that the Red Devils see the player as a key member of their squad.

Sky Sports added that Manchester United will, therefore, only consider “very big offers” for the 30-year-old centre-back.

How far will the Hammers go?

Maguire has been hit and miss throughout his time at Old Trafford, with the centre-back drawing plenty of criticism for his displays over the years.

Amid such criticism and a lot of time spent on the bench at Manchester United, the defender remains a key part of the England setup, and is usually one of the first names on the team sheet under manager Gareth Southgate.

But that could soon change for Maguire if he continues to warm the bench at Old Trafford, meaning a summer exit is very much on the cards.

The defender could, however, be priced out of a move away, as there may not be many clubs out there who are willing to arrive with a “very big” offer for the player.

West Ham undoubtedly have plenty of money in the bank following the £105million sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, but the majority of those funds should really be spent on replacing their beloved captain.
