West Ham United relegation prediction shared by Super Computer after loss v Chelsea

West Ham are predicted to comfortably avoid relegation despite the 3-0 defeat at home against Chelsea on 21 September.

The Opta Super Computer predicts the Hammers to finish in 12th place, giving them just a 2.65 per cent chance of relegation.

This is despite them losing to the Blues, Aston Villa and Manchester City and sitting in 14th place after five games.

West Ham need a significant improvement in performances

While the Irons have had a tough start to the season, there clearly are problems with the way the team’s being set up.

Julen Lopetegui was brought in to play a more expansive style of football, but he cannot set his side up to not have any structure.

Performances and results like the Chelsea one could be fatal for him, potentially resulting in him being sacked.

It’s important that work is being put in on the training pitch as this side looks worse than that under David Moyes.

The Hammers have made a number of shrewd signings in the summer and bar Crysencio Summerville, none of them are quite exciting the fans yet.

While relegation is not an immediate concern, it may soon be if performances do not improve.
