West Ham United really want to hire Lutz Pfannenstiel in behind-the-scenes role as he works wonders in MLS
West Ham want to hire St Louis City SC sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel, who is impressing at the MLS club, according to BILD.
The 49-year-old, who previously worked behind the scenes at German clubs Hoffenheim and Fortuna Dusseldorf, is also being eyed by Nottingham Forest and Torino.
He is now working wonders at MLS side St. Louis City SC, who are top of the Western Conference in what is their debut campaign in the competition.
“Many experts are surprised that St. Louis is taking off like this,” according to BILD. “Of course, thanks to Pfannenstiel, who formed the squad.
“According to BILD information, there is therefore great interest in Pfannenstiel. The sporting director is being courted by England clubs West Ham United and Nottingham Forest. Torino from Serie A is also interested.”

There is set to be plenty of movement at West Ham this summer, but whether or not Pfannenstiel is part of the shakeup remains to be seen.
A handful of players look certain to call time on their Hammers careers come the end of the season, while many new faces can be expected to arrive at the London Stadium, with manager David Moyes’s future also up in the air.
His position has been a major talking point in East London all season, and it seems likely that he will be moved on this summer despite a very positive end to the campaign.
The boss has helped steer the club away from immediate danger in the league, while they are currently in a strong position to clinch this season’s Europa Conference League trophy.
Pfannenstiel meanwhile is working wonders at St. Louis and could be a good option for West Ham, but they would definitely face competition for his services given his superb work in the US so far.
