West Ham United ready to rival Wolves for Harry Souttar transfer
West Ham United are ready to rival Wolves in the transfer race to sign Stoke City and Australian World Cup star defender Harry Souttar, according to TEAMtalk.
There’s no surprise that Souttar is attracting attention from the Premier League after his sublime performances in Qatar for the Australian national team.
Teamtalk confessed that the defender is “very much” in the thinking of David Moyes and the Hammers boss would be willing to launch a bid if the price was right.

“Wolves are far from alone in their pursuit of Souttar. TEAMtalk also understands that the 13-times capped defender is also on West Ham’s radar too,” as quoted by TEAMtalk.
“Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to add to their centre-back options. Favoured pairing Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd are, sadly, no strangers to the treatment room.
“Moyes wants to add to his defensive options in light of uncertainty around Dawson and Ogbonna. And Souttar, if the price is right, is very much in his thinking.”

Solid.
Souttar would be a solid signing and would make a massive improvement to the current Hammers backline, even more so with the current injury crisis.
And he’s a much more glossy signing than the rumoured Everton centre-back Michael Keane, that’s a potential transfer no fan wants to see in January.
The Australian looked absolute class at the World Cup and is evidently above and beyond the level of the Championship for Stoke City.
It may be tough to beat off Premier League competition for his signature, but the Irons can provide a much more glitzy package than the likes of Wolves.
Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna’s futures seem to be pretty much made up, which leaves a massive gap to fill in the West Ham United defence.
There are far worse options on the market than Souttar, so why not? He’s entering the prime of his career and could ultimately come in and hit the ground running.
