West Ham United ready to put higher figure down to secure Julen Lopetegui amid AC Milan update
West Ham United are willing to put a higher figure on the table to secure Julen Lopetegui ahead of AC Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported on Wednesday (24 April, page 15) that the Italian giants are set to part ways with Stefano Piol and appoint a new manager, with Lopetegui taking his time and waiting for Milan’s approach.
Milan are currently talking with other candidates and therefore are yet to approach the former Wolves boss and should they continue to make him wait, the Irons could have an opportunity to swoop and attempt to agree on a deal.
The Hammers are willing to pay the Spanish boss a larger fee to fend off potential competition from the Serie A club and tempt Lopetegui into making the switch to the London Stadium.

It is becoming increasingly clear that David Moyes’ time in East London is coming to an end. The Scotsman has been linked with the exit door for much of the season, but it now seems likely there will be a change in the dugout.
Whether that new appointment sees Lopetegui take over the reins remains to be seen, but it does appear as though the Irons are in an excellent position to beat the competition to the former Real Madrid boss’ signature.
Hopefully, some clarity will emerge from the London Stadium sooner rather than later around the current plans of the board. It cannot be good for anybody involved to have this much uncertainty hanging over the football club.
Speculation around Moyes’ future and potential replacements won’t go anywhere between now and the end of the season. Until an official statement emerges from those in charge at West Ham, several names will be linked with the switch.
