West Ham United presented open door to sign Youssef En-Nesyri as Sevilla ready sale

Youssef En-Nesyri appears all set to leave Sevilla with West Ham United leading the race to sign him, according to Fichajes.net.

The Moroccan international has led his side to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar, the first African nation to do so, but he is no longer likely to stay with the La Liga side beyond the January window.

Sevilla are hoping to use his impressive World Cup campaign to hike up his price for a January sale with West Ham not the only club hoping to sign him when the year ticks over.

The 25-year-old is yet to score in the Spanish top flight this season after 10 matches but he does have two goals to his name in the Champions League.

David Moyes is a big admirer of En-Nesyri, saying in a column for The Times: “In Youssef En-Nesyri they (Morocco) have a centre forward who is an incredible good runner and gives them an outlet.”

Firepower

In a way, you have to ignore his goal record in La Liga this season because he has had some injury problems this season and he has been in the goals previously too.

Moyes knows that he needs more firepower in his squad having struggled to get his side in a free-flowing attacking system all season long.

West Ham

Gianluca Scamacca hasn’t hit the ground running yet after his mega-money summer move but the most concerning part of the goal-shy West Ham is the lack of contribution from Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen.

Those two were talismanic last season and a large reason why the Hammers reached the Europa League semi-final and secured another European campaign via the Premier League.

They’ve both regressed this season along with the Irons overall squad and Moyes knows that he has to make a move in January to stop the slide and En-Nesyri could be the ideal man for the job if he can get a move over the line.
