West Ham United present game plan to seal Hugo Ekitike transfer, player receptive to move
West Ham United have presented their game-plan to Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike and his representatives, according to Foot Mercato.
According to the French media outlet (22 August), all parties have held constructive discussions and the Hammers have the capacity to match Ekitike’s salary claims and PSG’s demands.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna reported on his Twitter account on 22 August that West Ham technical director Tim Steidten and PSG director of football Luis Campos held meetings overnight with the East Londoners looking to bolster their forward line following the departure of Gianluca Scamacca.

Serious pursuit
Ekitike could indeed represent another “blinding” transfer for the London Stadium faithful considering the potential and current attacking class the 21-year-old possesses in his weaponry.
After the signings of James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez, while edging closer to a move for Konstantinos Mavropanos, it certainly seems as if the Hammers are serious about signing a new striker and Ekitike represents another brilliant buy. How the East Londoners plan to use his talents will of course be crucial to any potential transfer.

The 21-year-old was actually on loan at PSG from Reims last season and struggled for regular minutes due to the plethora of talent in front of him in Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, scoring three goals and registering four assists in the league, still contributing positively as another title came their way.
With striker Michail Antonio set to stay in East London [West Ham Football, 22 August], and Danny Ings his only backup option, it’s clear Moyes and Steidten want a fresh and exciting young name through the London Stadium doors.
Ekitike could be an extremely useful asset for West Ham as he ranks within the top 3% in Europe’s top five leagues among his positional peers for assists per 90, as well as the highest 24% for successful take-ons per 90.
Whatever Moyes’ plan, the attacker could be a pivotal piece of depth for a side searching for more European glory and a higher domestic finish this season.
