West Ham United players witness David Moyes and Tim Steidten friction behind the scenes

West Ham United players have witnessed friction between manager David Moyes and technical director Tim Steidten, according to The Times.

Writing on their website (4 May), the news outlet reports that players have noticed the two at loggerheads in recent times with the German not speaking to the manager on the touchline before the 2-2 draw with Liverpool recently.

Moyes is expected to leave the club at the end of the season with his contract due to expire, and Steidten has been holding talks with candidates to replace him.

West Ham must make David Moyes exit official soon

West Ham are anything but united right now, with the current situation surrounding Moyes’ future leaving a dark cloud over the club.

It’s clear the club are looking to move forward next season, and that means that Moyes’ contract at the London Stadium is highly unlikely to be renewed. But with all parties adamant a decision won’t be made until the end of the season, uncertainty remains.

But as Steidten and David Sullivan edge closer to appointing a replacement, it just starts to look disrespectful towards Moyes even though they are well within their rights to plan for the future.

West Ham manager David Moyes
David Moyes will manage West Ham United for the final time against Manchester City on May 19.

It would make things much easier for everyone involved if an announcement was made before the end of the season, making their plans clear so everyone knows where they stand.

Moyes would then get the send-off he deserves from fans in the final home game of the season, and everyone would have clarity on what is happening.

In other West Ham news, Mark Noble wants Sullivan to appoint a different manager to replace Moyes.
