West Ham United: Paulo Fonseca top contender to replace David Moyes, talks held

West Ham United have identified Paulo Fonseca as their number one target to replace David Moyes this summer, according to iNews.

Writing on their website (10 April), the news outlet reports that the Portuguese coach has held talks with the Hammers and retains backing from decision-makers at the club due to his attacking style of play.

A decision to replace Moyes has not been made yet, but should the Scottish manager leave then Fonseca will be the top target to replace him.

Will David Moyes be sacked by West Ham United?

It seems as though the club are making their moves ahead of the summer, and Moyes may well be on the move away from the London Stadium.

The Hammers are still in contention for a European place via their league finish this season after a good campaign in the Premier League, while they’re also preparing for a huge Europa League quarter-final clash with Bayer Leverkusen too.

The job Moyes has done has been sensational since he took over, but his style of play has really divided the fan-base and with the squad that he has fans want to see more attacking.

But results are hard to argue with currently, and if Moyes is able to deliver another trophy against all expectations then it will be hard to justify letting him go.

Fonseca is clearly well thought of by those higher-ups at the London Stadium, and should Moyes decide to move on this summer then fans can be excited about a new attacking manager coming in.
