West Ham United not convinced about Craig Dawson agreeing new deal
West Ham United are not convinced veteran defender Craig Dawson will agree to a new deal with the club, according to Claret & Hugh.
The 32-year-old is in the final year of his contract and as things stand, he will be allowed to agree to a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.
The report stated that the Hammers are looking to offer a contract to the player in the winter but the board remains uncertain whether the former West Brom defender will agree to it.

It is also reported that the player remains eager to leave the club and will likely run down his contract to depart as a free agent in the summer of 2023.
Big move
West Ham remained extremely active in the recently concluded transfer window where they signed eight first-team players.
Two of them were centre-backs as it was clear that Moyes was eager to bolster the defensive unit and was aware of Dawson’s intention to leave in the summer.

However, despite the arrival of two players in the same position, the 32-year-old remained pivotal to the Irons, especially after the departure of Issa Diop to newly-promoted side Fulham which became the primary reason for his stay at the club.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the Rochdale-born will stay at the club or whether he will decide to leave come the next summer.
Dawson has been a West Ham player permanently since the summer of 2021 when he moved from Watford in a deal worth £2.07 million. In total, the former Rochdale defender has represented his current club in 79 matches across all competitions where he has nine goals to his name [Transfermarkt].
