West Ham United next manager: Huge Graham Potter twist emerges

Graham Potter has a “big lobby” at West Ham to succeed Julen Lopetegui as the new manager, according to Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist reported on 6 January via his Patreon that the club are actively looking for a new head coach.

However, before sacking Lopetegui for his dismal start to life at the London Stadium, the hierarchy want to know who the replacement is going to be.

Graham Potter makes a lot of sense for West Ham

Potter, with his Brighton side, achieved what few thought would be possible and that’s still a feather in his cap.

Jurgen Klopp was also thrilled with the “unbelievable” exploits as the Seagulls went toe to toe with the best in the league.

He said: “I respect so much what Graham Potter is doing there. They are a football-playing side. The way they play is really good and unbelievable – they stick to their idea, and I respect that a lot. I know how good they are.”

The Englishman can get this Hammers team to play good football as they’ve got the players to fit into his style of play.

Lopetegui was hired to play good football and dominate teams but he did not have the Premier League track record to do so.

His stint at Wolves was underwhelming and fans were already on the fence when he was announced as the new manager.

The Spaniard’s reign at the London Stadium looks to be ending after a few months in charge and fans will be hoping that Potter can guide them forward.

In other West Ham news, sources claim the Hammers can now secure the services of a £40m player in January.
