West Ham United: Tim Steidten to Liverpool update shared as David Moyes uncertainty continues

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is “likely to remain” at London Stadium beyond this summer, according to GiveMeSport.

Steidten’s future at the club has been called into question in recent months amid suggestions he is wanted by Premier League rivals Liverpool.

The German has not always seen eye to eye with David Moyes, whose own future is also uncertain with his contract due up this summer.

GiveMeSport reported on Tuesday (12 March) that “it is now unlikely” both men will depart at the same time.

The report adds “the likelihood is that [Steidten] will be staying” as he “is already preparing for next season and the summer transfer window”.

West Ham chief Tim Steidten touted as target for Liverpool

Losing both the manager and the technical director in the same summer would be a massive blow for West Ham.

In many ways, Steidten’s position at the club is causing even more uncertainty than that of manager Moyes.

West Ham will no doubt be working on transfer targets around about now, so losing Steidten would set the Irons back.

If Moyes was to announce his departure in May, meanwhile, United would then go out and find a new manager before pre-season begins.

Retaining Moyes and Steidten would be the best way to provide some stability at London Stadium, but not every supporter will like that.

The topic of Moyes and the contract he has been offered is divisive to say the least.

If nothing else, though, supporters know that they are at least in safe hands while both Steidten and Moyes are around.
