Joe Cole described Mohammed Kudus as "another weapon" for David Moyes after the summer signing scored for West Ham in their win over Backa Topola.

United kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 3-1 comeback victory over the Serbian league leaders at the London Stadium on Thursday [21 September].

Kudus played a part in West Ham's equaliser and then got on the scoresheet himself by nodding in a James Ward-Prowse corner through a crowd of bodies.

Speaking as a pundit for TNT Sports, Cole said [21 September, 39s]: "[Kudus] looked like he was happy and settled.

"He is another weapon for David Moyes. I look at this team and I see goals everywhere; it was a great night for West Ham."

Mo makes his mark

Kudus has had to settle for a couple of cameo appearances off the bench in the Premier League, but his West Ham career is certainly up and running now.

The Ghana international more than played his part in United's recovery against Backa Topola as he got off the mark for his new side with a nice headed goal.

As per BBC Sport [21 September], Kudus has now been directly involved in eight goals (six goals, two assists) in his last nine matches in European competition.

That goes some way to showing just why West Ham were so eager to bring the forward in from Ajax in the summer, seeing off competition from some big-name clubs in doing so.

Kudus may now be in contention for a first league start when the Irons travel to Liverpool on Sunday [24 September], with that match providing a chance to lay down a serious marker.
