David Moyes told to quit West Ham United as Celtic move mooted live on talkSPORT
Jason Cundy has urged David Moyes to turn down the offer of a new contract at West Ham amid backlash from certain supporters.
Many Irons fans want to see the back of Moyes, who is due to be out of contract in the summer, due to a perceived negative style of play.
Moyes has already confirmed that he has been offered fresh terms, but he is delaying his decision on whether or not to agree to them.
When a United fan called into talkSPORT [14 March] and told Moyes to leave for Celtic, Cundy replied: “If I’m David Moyes, I wouldn’t sign a new contract at West Ham. I’d wait for a better job.”
Co-host Jamie O’Hara added: “That’s West Ham fans. There’s a lot of them out there.”
Brendan Rodgers is currently in charge at Celtic Park, but there have been plenty of suggestions that Moyes could be targeted if the Ulsterman moves on this summer.
West Ham fans remain divided on David Moyes
The ‘be careful what you wish for’ line has been overused. Ultimately, those who want Moyes gone will not change their stance at this point.
Even if the Scotsman lifted a second successive European trophy, many who are hell-bent on him going will say it is the right time for him to go.
The same is true for those in the opposite camp. It makes for a divided fanbase, although results like the one against Freiburg certainly helps.

The result and the performance meant that for 90 minutes everyone was singing off the same hymn sheet.
Progressing in Europe, where Bayer Leverkusen now await in the quarter-finals, will at least quieten the grumbles for a little while longer.
If it is Moyes’ intention to put pen to paper on this new deal, now would be the chance to do so before the grumbles resurface again.
