West Ham United news as Roma press on Gianluca Scamacca as Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin twist emerges
West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca, Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin and ex Chelsea and now Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata are all linked to Roma, per Corriere Dello Sport.
The Italian media outlet report [26 July] that Jose Mourinho fancies the Spaniard but does not mind Scamacca or Calvert-Lewin this summer.
Roma chief Tiago Pinto hopes to sign Scamacca, 24, soon which would be a loan deal conditional to entry into the Champions League.

Keep him
Loaning Scamacca out in no way benefits West Ham as they’ll lose one of their star players for no money and will have to spend their own funds to sign a replacement.
He arrived last summer with plenty of hype and did not live up to the billing in his first Premier League season.
However, it’s too premature to write him off just yet and David Moyes surely will not want to lose him this summer.

That said, his recent comments do not really indicate he’s fully on board with the project at the London Stadium so it remains to be seen in what mood he is in.
Regardless, the Hammers must not loan him out under any circumstances and if Roma are desperate to sign him, then they need to pay up.
West Ham should look to recoup how much they signed him for last summer and if the Italians cannot afford him then they can look at other options.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
