West Ham United: Newcastle admission as Liverpool stance on Tim Steidten emerges

Ben Jacobs has made an admission on Newcastle as he’s clarified Liverpool’s stance on West Ham director Tim Steidten.

Speaking to Give Me Sport [24 February], the CBS Sports journalist claims that Steidten is not understood to be on the Reds’ radar.

Newcastle’s name has also emerged and they will be speaking to candidates once they sort out Dan Ashworth’s future who’s understood to be heading towards Manchester United.

Jacobs said: “Steidten, by the way, is not a candidate for Liverpool despite reports. So if he wants to leave West Ham and stay in the Premier League, he won’t be going to Anfield.

“At this stage, it’s kind of too early to be putting names out there. Newcastle are first dealing with the final stages of Ashworth’s exit and then and only then will they start talking to other candidates.”

Steidten to stay at West Ham despite Liverpool and Newcastle talks?

Steidten’s future at the London Stadium is already not guaranteed amid his behind-the-scenes clashes with David Moyes.

With David Sullivan already seeming to make the decision over Moyes’ sack, the director may feel his authority undermined.

Steidten recently joined the Hammers so it’s wise for the club to retain him despite any issues with Moyes.

His expertise and vision could prove invaluable in shaping the club’s future projects, regardless of Moyes’ tenure.

Allowing Steidten to influence the direction of the club’s operations aligns with long-term strategic planning, ensuring continuity and stability even amidst managerial changes.

This approach prioritises the club’s interests above individual dynamics, fostering a cohesive and forward-thinking environment which may lead to sustained success.
