West Ham United must wait 48-72 hours to find out Filip Kostic fate

West Ham United now face an excruciating wait of 48-72 hours to find out the fate of Filip Kostic, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan have both sent a proposal to Eintracht Frankfurt today (31 July) but it will be two or three days before they both find out an answer from the Europa League champions.

If the Bundesliga side rejects both approaches, then West Ham will be left in a clear lead of the race to sign the Serbian international who has just one year left on his current contract.

“Kostic proposed again at Juve (who thinks about it) and at Inter (colder today),” Pedulla reported via his Twitter account. “The wait in both cases will last 48-72 hours, otherwise the outsider will sign for West Ham.”

The 29-year-old had to deal with a transition from a winger to a wing-back in Germany last season but still produced seven goals for Frankfurt across all competitions.

Pull the plug

West Ham are not a football club who should be seen as the last resort so if Kostic wants to go to Itay over the London Stadium then the Irons should leave him in the mud by pulling the plug on a deal.

This is most likely his last chance to get a big move away from Frankfurt and if the Italians are not up to the plate then the Hammers should not suddenly become the team he wants to play for.

An offer has already been fired from Rush Green to German shores but there has not been much movement from Eintracht’s side and there is only so long Moyes can afford to wait.

He is under threat of starting the season with only Aaron Cresswell as a competent left-back although Arthur Masuaku and Ben Johnson could do a job if needs must.

48-72 hours is the longest West Ham can afford to wait and a move has to be made either way soon after.
