West Ham United boss David Moyes delivers verdict on January transfer dealings
David Moyes has delivered his verdict on potential transfers being made at West Ham United during the January transfer window.
The Hammers had a busy summer with many major signings coming into the fold at the London Stadium, including stars like Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca.
Now, Moyes has confessed that West Ham United could still be “active” this month but ultimately any business that takes place depends on the team’s situation.
“We still might be active in the transfer market this January. We might try and do some business if we can,” said Moyes as quoted by Football London.
“But ultimately, the club spent a lot in the summertime and we bought in a lot of players and ideally we’re not trying to bring in so many players.
“We bought in a lot in the summer and we’re still trying to integrate them and get them used to the Premier League. They’re still trying to get used to us ourselves but it depends on our situation.”
Moyes backed for now.
It looks like the West Ham United board are sticking by their guns and will be keeping Moyes as their head coach at the London Stadium for now.
The team put in a much-improved performance against Leeds United and outings like this will be needed far more for the club to climb up the Premier League table.
It definitely felt like a turning point in the season against Leeds and hopefully, West Ham United can build from this and finish the campaign strongly.
However, West Ham United’s next two matches against Wolves and Everton will be critical in whether Moyes remains to be backed or not.
Nothing less than six points should be on the agenda against the two sides battling the Hammers in a relegation scrap, and anything other than that could change the tune of the Irons board.
The clock is certainly ticking for Moyes, with many fans just waiting for the inevitable to take place, so January will be a crucial month.
