West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic set for medical ahead of Torino move
West Ham United attacking midfielder to fly to Italy to undergo his medical on Wednesday to complete his move to Torino, as per Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports pundit reported on Twitter on 9 August that the Hammers have agreed a deal with the Serie A club. Torino will sign him on loan with an option to buy for £15 million.
Vlasic joined the Hammers last summer for £30m including add-ons on a five-year deal, but the London club seem happy to sell him for a big loss.
Sheth wrote on Twitter: “Torino agree deal with West Ham United for the signing of forward Nikola Vlasic – loan with option to buy for £15m as per Di Marzio. Vlasic flying to Italy ahead of medical tomorrow. Vlasic joined on five year deal last summer for £30m including add-ons.”
Good move?
Vlasic joined the club on a big-money deal last summer. He failed to live up to the expectations in the first season, but it appears that the Hammers are ready to let him go, even on a big loss.
It shows that the 24-year-old is not in David Moyes’s first-team plans for this season. Ideally, West Ham would have sold him to any other club to get some upfront which they can reinvest in the squad, but the Croatian always wanted to join Torino.

The club have taken a big call here. Vlasic is a fantastic player, and his spell in England has turned into a nightmare. He will have a chance to make his presence felt in Italy.
It will be interesting to see if the Hammers will sign an attacking midfielder this summer, with the future of Said Benrahma also in doubt.
West Ham have already signed Maxwel Cornet who can play in multiple positions, but the Hammers could be tempted to add another attacking midfielder before the end of the window.
