West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic could leave on loan

West Ham midfielder Nikola Vlasic could leave the Hammers on loan this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers source wrote on his Patreon on 16 July that Serie A club Torino are still leading the chase to sign the 24-year-old attacking midfielder.

Toro News reported on 24 June that Vlasic has already said ‘yes’ to moving to Torino on a short-term deal this summer.

Good decision?

The Hammers only signed the 24-year-old last summer for a fee of £25million (plus add-ons) but he endured a frustrating 2021-22 campaign.

He is clearly lacking in confidence and probably a move away from the club will do a world of good for him. Torino are keen to take him on loan, and the Hammers seem open to the idea as well.

Calcio Mercato reported on 30 June that the Hammers are putting a minimum asking price of £17million on him, but it’s unlikely that a permanent deal can be reached.

He only scored once in 19 Premier League games and most of his appearances have come from the bench.

There’s no reason to abandon him completely from the plans, but a move to Italy on loan could be ideal for him to regain the form that prompted the Hammers to sign him in the first place.

He has proven on both the club and international stage and there’s no doubt about his ability.

West Ham are looking to bolster their midfield this summer, and Moyes could bring more than one midfielder this summer. If that’s the case, he can allow Vlasic to go out on loan.
