West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta may have picked up collarbone injury
West Ham are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Lucas Paqueta who picked up an injury against Chelsea in their Premier League game on Saturday (11 February).
The Brazilian was taken off after just 14 minutes and the club “fear” that he may have injured his collarbone once again, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing on Patreon (12 February), Ex notes that the 25-year-old may have picked up a similar “unique” injury, and it would be difficult to predict how long he will be absent for.

The midfielder is likely to undergo a scan on Monday to check the extent of the injury. He earlier missed matches with a similar injury when he first joined.
“West Ham face an anxious wait to see the extend of injuries to key players Lucas Paqueta and Nayef Aguerd,” wrote Ex on Patreon.
“Paqueta was taken off after 14 minutes after what looked like an injury to his collarbone and that is what the club fear. Paqueta has already missed matches with a similar injury when he first joined and a reoccurrence of the same unique injury would not be good and would have a difficult to determine analysis of how long he could be out.
“Paqueta’s replacement Tomas Soucek went on to have an eventful game have a goal disallowed and was involved in a controversial penalty incident towards the end of the game.”
Blow
Paqueta was playing really well alongside Declan Rice in recent games and his injury will come as a big blow to the club.
If he is out for a long spell on the sidelines, it could be a devastating blow for the club.
Likewise, Nayef Aguerd has only returned from injury in recent months, and he appeared to have picked up a groin injury. So, he could miss out on the big London derby clash against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday.

In his absence, David Moyes will have to pin hopes on Tomas Soucek who played really well against the Blues. He nearly got his name on the scoresheet but it was ruled out.
Towards the end of the match, Soucek nearly gave away a penalty when he handled the ball inside the box, but the referee ruled the decision in West Ham’s favour.
Soucek has not been in the best of form throughout the season, but this could now be his biggest opportunity to make a strong impact.
