West Ham United: Michail Antonio raves about Tottenham, predicts them to do something ‘special’ this season
Michail Antonio has heaped praise on Tottenham ahead of their game against West Ham on Thursday (7 December).
Speaking on the BBC’s Footballer’s Football Podcast on Tuesday (5 December, 33:25), the Jamaica international said if Spurs can keep picking up points until they get some of their injured players back, then they’ll be in with a good chance of doing something “special” this season.
The 33-year-old forward added that he expects the Hammers’ London rivals to be in the mix at the top end of the Premier League table with the way Ange Postecoglou has been managing them and how they started the campaign before picking up some injuries.

“If they can keep doing what they’re doing now, picking up points until they get their starting 11 back, I feel they’ll be definitely in with a good chance of doing something special this year,” said Antonio.
“The way the manager’s been managing them, the way they started their season before the injuries happened, you can’t not think that they’re going to be in and around it.”
Unpopular opinion
This is an opinion that probably won’t go down too well with the West Ham fans due to the fierce rivalry between the two clubs.
While Antonio is free to say what he wants, he perhaps should’ve reined in his praise for Tottenham, particularly during a week when the Hammers come up against them.
The forward has come under criticism from the Irons faithful a few times already during this campaign after making some controversial comments on his podcast.

Although Spurs have had a strong start to the season, this appears to be one of the better times to play them due to the amount of injuries within their squad.
It will by no means be an easy game when we do make the trip to North London, though, as these matches are always hard-fought and bragging rights are on the line.
