West Ham United make decision on MLS striker Valentin Castellanos
West Ham boss David Moyes has “no interest” in signing New York City FC striker Valentin Castellanos in the summer transfer window, according to Claret & Hugh.
The Mirror previously reported that the Hammers were leading the race for the MLS Golden Boot winner who was involved in 27 goals in the league last season.
The Irons were set to meet the £12.8million fee for the Argentine whilst their competitors River Plate struggled to meet the demands.

A move for the 23-year-old is said to be a “huge gamble” given the standard of the American league in comparison to the Premier League.
Moyes has never signed a South American and has no desire to do so and unless there is a complete change in the Scots stance on the move – it is “very unlikely” to happen.
Trust.
If Moyes and the club don’t want to take the risk of signing a relatively untested striker then I’m sure it will be the right choice.
Of course, he could become a star in years to come and this would be a huge story of regret for the Hammers but that is difficult to see considering the hype surrounding him.

Castellanos is 23 and is really only just bursting onto the scene. If he was destined for greatness you would have thought a host of European clubs would be in the market for him but they aren’t.
Make no mistake, he has had an excellent season in the MLS – scoring goals for fun at times but that far from guarantees his success in England.
The Premier League is a whole different ball game and only the very best will shine. It is impossible to call but it doesn’t seem as if the east Londoners are missing out not signing the Argentine.
They are far better off waiting and making a move they are more confident about.
