West Ham United make ‘100%’ David Moyes sack decision, David Sullivan scheduled for talks soon
David Moyes is “100%” staying on as West Ham United manager beyond the current season with chairman David Sullivan set to schedule talks regarding a new deal, according to Sean Whetstone.
The West Ham Six Foot Two journalist, sharing on his West Ham Football Twitter account (29 December) reports that Sullivan is set to sit down with Moyes early next year to agree terms and length of his contract extension.
Moyes himself believes that he still has plenty to offer at the London Stadium and that the project he is undergoing is still unfinished with his current deal set to run out in June 2024.
Whetstone posted: “David Moyes is 100% staying on as West Ham manager next season. Joint Chairman David Sullivan & the manager will sit down early next year to agree terms and length of extension.
“Moyes believes he can still offer something to the Hammers and his project is unfinished, the club are happy to offer him a new contract. Today is the fourth-year anniversary of Moyes joining the Hammers for his second stint.”
Start planning ahead now
Whatever West Ham United fans or neutrals think about Moyes and his tactics at the London Stadium, they can have no arguments about where he’s brought the club right now after a tremendous 2023.
The UEFA Conference League triumph isn’t the only thing the Scot has done brilliantly at the club but the impact made at the club, turning them from a bottom-of-the-table club to European challengers should not go unnoticed.

Moyes’ future at the London Stadium certainly brought some uncertainty regarding potential transfers both in January and next summer but now that he is staying on as manager, the club and West Ham United board can start planning ahead.
This is a superb decision from Sullivan and certainly shows the trust Moyes has always had in East London, especially amidst the crisis of results the club tasted a few weeks ago.
Thursday’s win at Arsenal showed just how much impact Moyes is making amongst the squad and at the club and he’s certainly never lost the trust of the players at all. Tremendous decision for all involved and gives the Irons plenty of continuity moving forward.
