West Ham United, Luton Town and Everton in transfer battle for Emiliano Martinez
West Ham will reportedly have to beat Everton and Luton Town to the services of FC Midtjylland midfielder Emiliano Martinez.
Sport 890 journalist Rodri Vázquez, the 23-year-old has had a great season and has attracted suitors from different countries.
It’s understood that the Uruguayan is set to leave the Danish club this summer amid Premier League interest.
Vazquez wrote on Twitter, “To the proposal of Everton and West Ham United is added that of the youngest of the league: Luton Town, a team that will play for the first time in the circle of privilege.
“At this time, the three English soccer clubs are the ones with the chances of having the Uruguayan at the wheel.
“Emiliano Martínez has had a great season at Midtjylland 🇩🇰 and that has aroused interest in major European leagues.
“The Uruguayan midfielder has firm offers from Bordeaux 🇫🇷 and Everton. It is almost a fact that he will change teams in the next transfer window.”
Declan Rice replacement?
West Ham are going to be linked with a lot of midfielders this summer as they’re set to lose their best player.
Declan Rice appears to be drawing interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United this summer and looks certain to leave.

Replacing him is not going to be possible as there’s nobody that will move to the London Stadium who’s better than playing the role of Rice.
It does make sense for them to bring in two new midfielders who might not be as good but do what Rice can to a certain extent and complement each other.
This could mean bringing in a ball carrier and a ball winner and by the looks of it, Martinez belongs to the former.
He’s extremely press resistant and is incredible on the ball so he can play as a six with David Moyes bringing in another midfielder capable of playing box to box and winning the ball back.
