West Ham United lose another figure ‘as resignation handed in’

West Ham United will lose another behind-the-scenes figure as Ian Taylor has handed in his resignation, according to Sean Whetstone.

The Hammers insider, posting via his West Ham Football X account (27 January), reported that the head of communications will leave his role after two years at the London Stadium in mid-February.

West Ham United undergoing structural revamp

While the reasons behind the decision remain unknown, it is not a good look for West Ham to have another key figure throw in the towel at the London Stadium.

Although the reasoning behind Steidten’s diminishing influence in East London is justifiable, enforcing a complete structural revamp at this stage of the season is potentially problematic.

The Irons could draw encouragement from Premier League leaders Liverpool, who appointed new figureheads from top to bottom throughout the summer and now lead the Premier League and Champions League this term.

However, it appears Sullivan is now eager to make up for lost time after wasting so many months contemplating the future of ex-boss Julen Lopetegui before his long-awaited dismissal.

The Hammers sit in 14th place in the Premier League, 11 points clear of the drop zone, and while Potter is expected to avoid a relegation scrap this term, that could all change if no new recruits arrive in the winter transfer window.
