West Ham United-linked Arthur Theate could be sacrificed by Bologna
West Ham United have received a boost in their pursuit of Bologna defender Arthur Theate with the Belgian potentially to be axed, according to Gazzetta.
The 22-year-old has been a regular feature of the Serie A side’s team this season but various reported transfer dealings could see him be forced out of the club.
Manager Sinisa Mihaljovic could be tempted into changing his tactic from a back three to a back four if Aaron Hickey leaves the club this summer, which is looking likely.
That would leave Theate out of his plans for the 2022-23 season and ensure the door is left wide open for David Moyes and the Hammers to swoop in and secure a £10million transfer.
If this does end up being the case for the Belgian, then West Ham should not wait for a single second to get their initial bid in for Theate and reach an agreement with Bologna as soon as possible.
They realise how good he is and that’s why they’re looking to sell him while he is performing well to help their finances and soon enough, we won’t be the only side queuing at the door for his signature.
Moyes knows that he needs a defender and he probably won’t get a better one for this cheap price in any transfer window so there is no reason to hesitate over getting this deal over the line.
He will know as well as anyone that if you have even the slightest hesitation over signing a player then he isn’t the one for you so he’d better have a clear mind when the club make their approach because he is not a player to be missing out on.
