West Ham United-linked Armando Broja seen in protective boot, ExWHUEmployee updates

West Ham United may have to turn their attentions away from Armando Broja after a concerning photo emerged and ExWHUEmployee has offered an update.

Chelsea hotshot Armando Broja is currently in the United States with the Blues’ first team on a pre-season training camp but an image has been shared by The Football Mob on Twitter of the Albanian international wearing a protective boot.

The Irons are currently leading a very hotly contested race for the 20-year-old [Claret and Hugh] who enjoyed a breakout season with Southampton but any injury could cause an issue in our pursuit.

ExWHUEmployee was quick to issue an update via his Patreon page to reassure West Ham fans having spoken to one of his sources close to Chelsea.

“If the injury is a bad one, I suspect full attention could shift to signing the Italian forward Gianluca Scamacca,” ExWHUEmployee said.

“We are told, by Chelsea sources, it is just a precautionary measure and that they can be worn for very minor injuries. The club still intend to peruse the deal if this is the case.”

Second choice

Broja is undoubtedly a very talented striker but he is not on the same level as Scamacca from Sassuolo and that is exactly who we should be focussing on.

We’ve already got a deal sorted for him and he should make the transition to the Premier League seamlessly if we can get a transfer over the line before reigning champions Manchester City arrive at the London Stadium.

To sign Broja too would not be a very wise spend of our transfer budget with only one new striker needed unless Michail Antonio suddenly leaves or retires which looks extremely unlikely.

The Jamaican has endured the last two seasons without a suitable backup to give him a rest at any stage and the intense schedule of the 2021-22 campaign took its toll on him with internationals to play as well.

But despite our need for a new number nine, we should not be going anywhere near an injured player unless it is only a minor knock, as we are all hoping for.
