West Ham United learn asking price for Hellas Verona ace Giovanni Simeone
West Ham United may only have to pay £16.9million to sign Hellas Verona striker Giovanni Simeone this summer, according to Calcio Mercato.
That is the price the Serie A side have put on the Argentine international’s head after he scored a whopping 17 goals to help them to ninth in Italy’s top tier last season.
But there is a possibility that his price could be lowered by Napoli who may use one of their current strikers in a swap deal for ‘El Cholito’ (as he is known).
Simeone wants to play as many games as possible during the 2022-23 season after the 27-year-old’s sensational campaign in Serie A with Napoli and Monza, also from Italy, potentially ready to make a move.
Hellas Verona are unlikely to be in a rush to sell him with four years left on his contract but a big offer from West Ham could be enough to force their hand into the sale.

You won’t be finding any complaints from West Ham fans if we had a striker scoring 17 times in a season but the Premier League is a whole different beast to Serie A.
The top sides in Italy are all fairly evenly matched now that Juventus’ reign has come crashing down thanks to the Milan rivals but there are also some really weak sides languishing at the bottom that bounce between the first and second division from year to year.
We still get that here to some extent but not quite to the same level as in Italy and Simeone won’t be able to rely on scoring against the league’s weak teams because there generally aren’t any.
Having said that, he does possess every attribute necessary to be a success in England and we really need him to challenge Michail Antonio if only to get the best out of the Jamaican again next season.
