West Ham United lead race for Olympiacos defender Pape Abou Cisse
West Ham lead the race for Olympiacos ace Pape Abou Cisse as scouts make contact with the defenders’ team, according to London World.
David Moyes will have his targets firmly set on strengthening his squad to allow him to build on the momentum the Hammers have gained over the last couple of seasons.
The Irons fell short of their targets in the 2021/22 campaign with their squad stretched too thin amid their centre-back crisis with all senior central defenders bar Craig Dawson side-lined at one stage of the season

According to a Sky Sports report, the London Stadium outfit have already signed Nayef Aguerd on a five-year deal worth up to £30million.
Despite that, the London Stadium outfit are now eyeing a move for the Senegal international who is considered the best in the Greek league, as included in the London World report.
Cisse’s contract expires in June 2024 but the centre-back is expected to leave the Super League 1 club ahead of the 2022/23 season for a fee of around £15million.
West Ham will face a battle for his services with Watford and Brighton also interested in signing him.
Intent.
This is more great news for the fans. For far too long problems in the squad simply coasted under the radar.

That is what happened last summer and in January – when they failed to sign anybody after leaving their business far too late.
It seems as if the Hammers’ chiefs have learned from that mistake with the quick moves they are making in the window so far.
Interest doesn’t always lead to signings though and there has been a catalogue of occasions where the Irons have been linked with a plethora of names and not signed anybody.
With one signing already in the bag, the pressure is somewhat off the board and they can now go about their business quietly and tick off all of the other boxes – and there are a lot of them.
Most importantly, a striker. Michail Antonio desperately needs some backup after leading the line by himself in the last term.
