West Ham United landlords LLDC dealt ‘big blow’ over Europa Conference League
West Ham United landlords LLDC will be dealt a “big blow” should the Hammers win the UEFA Europa Conference League, according to the Daily Mail.
West Ham took a major step towards the final of the competition beating AZ Alkmaar 2-1 in their semi-final first leg at the London Stadium on Thursday evening, after goals from Said Benrahma and Michail Antonio.
However, things may not be so delightful for the club landlords should West Ham win the competition, according to a report from the Daily Mail newspaper [12 May].

“West Ham United’s original deal with their London stadium landlords, the LLDC included a few intriguing bonuses.
“If they win the Champions League, they could have to hand them a bonus of £1m.
“If they win the Europa League, it’s £100,00. Yet when the agreement was reached, the Europa Conference League was not a competition, so Mail Sport understands that the LLDC are not due a penny if West Ham United triumph.
“That’s a big blow for the landlords, who did not respond to requests for comment yesterday.”
Blow
It seems as if the LLDC weren’t planning ahead when they made the agreement for bonuses which is perfectly understandable given the Europa Conference League didn’t exist when the agreement was made.
With West Ham United looking to secure naming rights for the London Stadium in order to make it their own, the club landlords will be trying to acquire any kind of bonus they can.

And should the Hammers win the competition, someone within the club certainly won’t be that delighted about West Ham winning their first major trophy since 1980.
Things may well be made even worse should the club not win the competition and fail to qualify for the Europa League which could hand their landlords £100,000.
It may be time for Karen Brady to get going and secure those naming rights deal pretty quickly and efficiently.
