
West Ham United: Kieran McKenna emerges to replace David Moyes amid Ipswich compensation update
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is thought to be a contender to replace David Moyes at West Ham, according to Ed Aarons.
The Guardian journalist shared (13 February) that should the Hammers not take up not decide to renew with the Scotsman at the end of the campaign amid the current contract uncertainty at the club (HITC, 12 February) McKenna will be one of the names in the frame to replace him at the London Stadium.
Crystal Palace are understood to have sounded out the possibility of replacing Roy Hodgson with the former Manchester United first-team coach but McKenna does not want to leave Portman Road while his side are challenging for automatic promotion in the Championship.
Whoever wishes to appoint the Northern Irish boss would be required to pay Ipswich significant compensation despite his current deal running to June 2025.

McKenna is doing a “fantastic” job at Portman Road despite their recent dip in form and his philosophy and penchant for an attractive brand of football has certainly increased the interest in his services from clubs across the country.
Moyes’ situation at the London Stadium has been a hot topic of discussion throughout the season but after the 6-0 defeat to Arsenal and the news that the board have delayed contract talks, those discussions have heated up once more.
If Hammers chief David Sullivan does decide to part ways at the end of his contract in the summer, McKenna should certainly be one of the names right at the top of their list to replace him.
Fans are desperate for an attacking brand of football at the club and the way in which Moyes has set up his side in recent games has certainly left so much to be desired from the West Ham fanbase.
Managers like McKenna possess a bold new tactical approach which certainly appeals in East London.
Palace are also thought to be interested and the Northern Irish boss also represents a stunning managerial acquisition in South London with the Eagles looking to replace Hodgson with a manager boasting a fresher and much modern tactical outlook – McKenna certainly fits the bill.

However great McKenna could be for those within the London Stadium quarters, there will certainly be other names in the frame should Moyes leave the club this summer because it doesn’t seem like that contract may be signed.
