Journalist waxes lyrical over West Ham United star Declan Rice at World Cup
Daily Mirror journalist John Cross has heaped praise on West Ham United star Declan Rice and his FIFA World Cup performances for England.
Rice starred in a classy England outfit that were ultimately undone by an equally as good French side in the quarter-finals of the competition on 10 December.
Cross admitted that Rice was one of England’s “top performers” and his quality performances will only make him more in demand this summer.

“One of England’s top performers. Was a brilliant midfield shield and excelled against France, which speaks volumes for his quality,” said Cross as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
“He will be in demand in the summer transfer window.”

Mainstay.
Rice will be a mainstay within the England setup for years to come and his classy performances in Qatar have only enhanced his reputation further.
It’s nice to see the West Ham United captain being recognised as one of the world’s best but the lofty heights his name is reaching will ultimately cause the end of his time at the London Stadium.
Nevertheless, his FIFA World Cup outings will put Rice’s price tag even higher, meaning the Hammers are in for a big cash influx this summer.
This money will obviously have to be spent wisely, too many times has the story been told of Premier League clubs wasting big transfer fees received on poor overpriced talents.
But as the summer transfer window creeps closer, it’s inevitable that Rice will look to continue his prosperous football career elsewhere.
The world is truly the classy midfielders oyster and he’ll be the talk of the town once the 2022/2023 Premier League season comes to an end.
