West Ham United relegation rating shows major underperformance from star-studded squad
Daily Mail journalist Sam Brookes has shared his West Ham United relegation rating out of 10 with the Premier League season almost at its halfway point.
The Hammers are currently lingering above the relegation zone in 17th place with only their goal difference keeping them out of the drop zone.
Brookes believes “all is not well” at the London Stadium but gave David Moyes’ men a 4/10 likelihood of relegation by the end of the campaign.

“Having finished in the European places in their last two seasons, West Ham were expected to push on again when they signed Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca in the summer. Instead, they find themselves in a relegation scrap,” said Brookes as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“David Moyes has not been able to get the best out of Paqueta or Scamacca, while some of his most trusted players including Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio have been unable to replicate their form of previous seasons.
“The Hammers lost five consecutive games either side of the World Cup, and the pressure is mounting on Moyes to turn things around.
“West Ham have a squad full of established internationals spearheaded by captain Declan Rice, and ought to have more than enough to stay up, but all is not well at the London Stadium at the moment.”

Moyes clinging on.
Moyes is clinging on for his life at the London Stadium at the moment and with big Premier League fixtures en route, his end could be near.
And that would be music to the ears of a growing contigent of Hammers, with many believing the Scot has already outstayed his welcome this season.
Wolves and Everton are next for Moyes in the top flight and with both clubs sitting in a similarly precarious position, three points from both is an absolute must.
Anything less than this could see the curtains called on Moyes who in all fairness has done a fantastic job since taking the reigns at the Irons.
The 59-year-old has stared adversity in the face many times before, so this is nothing new to him and he could still come out on top in this scrap.
Whatever happens, West Ham United have far too good of a squad to drop down to the Championship and relegation this season would be a failure of epic proportions.
