West Ham United join Fulham to sign French defender Djibril Sidibe
West Ham have joined London rivals Fulham in the race to sign French defender Djibril Sidibe, according to a report from But Football Club.
The website reported on 14 July that the Hammers have shown interest in the full-back, who previously spent a season on loan at Everton.
Fulham are also “active” in the chase tp sign Sidibe as they’re struggling to convince Lyon to let Leo Dubois leave on loan. The former Lille defender is now a free agent after his contract with Monaco has expired, and he is waiting for the next opportunity.

No way
Sidibe is a vastly experienced player who has made over 360 appearances in his club career.
He has made 18 appearances for the France national team and was part of the squad that won the 2018 World Cup.
Last season, Sidibe made 20 appearances in all competitions for Moncao, with most of them have come playing as a right-back.
Now, West Ham need to sign a left-back this summer, and it’s not clear why they would move for Sidibe.

The Hammers have two very good players for the right-back role, and adding another player is nothing but a waste of space and money.
Unless, Moyes is planning to use Ben Johnson as a left-back throughout the campaign, and bring in another right-back instead on a cut-price deal, it’s unlikely that the club will make a serious attempt to sign Sidibe.
Moreover, Sidibe’s performances in the last few years haven’t been outstanding either. There are better options available in the market.
