Jeff Stelling predicts West Ham United clash v Arsenal for Sky Sports as Premier League returns

Sky Sports pundit Jeff Stelling has predicted the result of the West Ham United clash against Arsenal as Premier League action finally returns.

The Hammers will travel to the Emirates Stadium on December 26 in arguably one of the best times to face the league leaders after a lengthy layoff.

Stelling confessed that there will likely be ring “rust” for both sides heading into the fixture but admitted Arsenal’s quality should see them prevail.

“Arsenal will be without their star striker Gabriel Jesus due to injury, but they were Christmas number one for a reason and are continuing to show great signs,” said Stelling on his Sky Sports Super 6 prediction.

“There may be a bit of ring rust but that will be the same for both sides, so I expect Arsenal’s quality to prevail in this one.”

Stelling predicts Arsenal will triumph on the day in a 2-1 win over the Hammers.

Perfect timing.

To be honest, it’s absolutely perfect timing to be playing the Gunners and no team will come back and hit the ground running after a lengthy break.

Expect some bizarre results to take place in the Premier League and the West Ham United game against Arsenal could just be one of them.

With luck, star midfielders Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta will be ready and available for David Moyes’ side and this will be a massive boost to the starting XI.

As Stelling highlighted, Arsenal will be without their star forward Jesus, someone who has been instrumental in everything good the North London club has done this campaign.

This will be a massive miss for them and something the Irons can hopefully exploit on 26 December, West Ham United needs every point they can get right now.

A big result here would make things look a hell of a lot brighter though and give the Hammers some much-needed good luck in a tough Christmas run-in.
